Yellowstone and the 6666

Yellowstone and the 6666 Ranch

I have watched Yellowstone starting with Season 1 up to the final season, along with 1883 and 1923. It’s a riveting show set in Montana and sucked me in from the very beginning. Spoiler alert! Beth and RIP finally got married. Yay!! Beth plays a riveting bitch character who is seeking revenge, extremely well. Oddly, she is from England but hides her English accent extremely well. Kevin Costner plays the owner and patriarch of the Yellowstone Ranch that has been in his family for decades. Unfortunately, egos and money became involved which managed to shut down the series with Costner exiting the show early.

A young cowboy on the show, Jimmy, screwed up one too many times and was sent away to the 6666 Ranch in Texas to learn how to be a Real Cowboy. There was some talk that the 6666 Ranch was going to be a new show. This has yet to be seen. It is owned by Taylor Sheridan who wrote and produced Yellowstone, 1813 and 1923.

In March 0f 2024, on our journey back to Oklahoma from Phoenix via Texas, we were driving though what seemed to be the middle of ‘nowhere Texas’ where all that could be seen was miles and miles of cattle country. Basically, it was simply empty land. This was on somewhat of a backroad highway, not a freeway.

All of a sudden, I saw a ranch on the right side of the road and on the gated entrance were the numbers 6666. This is referred to as the Four Sixes Ranch. A few miles back we had passed an airstrip. In the middle of nowhere! I quickly yelled stop the car, scaring the person driving into slamming on the brakes. We turned around and pulled into the ranch’s driveway to take a picture. Multiple pickup trucks were parked in the driveway but no people were around. Being a curious soul, I almost walked through the gate to find someone who might be famous to get a selfie with but instead settled for a photo of the gate. Probably not many people ever find this place since it’s in the middle of absolutely nowhere, but I did, completely by accident!
